Water & Sanitation

Clean water, sanitation and hygiene programs serving Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. Our WASH work runs year-round and intensifies during the mission deployment, December 14, 2028 – January 3, 2029.

Overview

Water is the first step to health

The Water & Sanitation Director leads all Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives for UnityReach Global. The department is responsible for providing sustainable access to safe drinking water, improving sanitation facilities, promoting hygiene education, and reducing waterborne diseases through community-based programs.

Safe water access

Well rehabilitation, pump repair, storage and distribution so families no longer walk long distances for unsafe water.

Water quality & testing

Bacteriological and turbidity testing, chlorination where needed, and a water quality register kept for every source.

Hygiene promotion

School and community hygiene education, handwashing stations, and safe household water storage practices.
